She was beautiful in her own way

         Always smiling through the day

She never gave a second thought

         When by her friends she was sought

She gave all she had to any one

         ‘Til one day she no more could she run

From one day going off to play

         To the next gone without delay

She flew home with her own wings

         Leaving this world below to sing

Never again to feel the hurt and pain

         That life had given her in vain

Now and forever happy and free

         She now rides life on the breeze

She left me alone with no one around

         Where pain and sorrow forever abound

Though time marches on from day to day

         I must continue to grow come what may

Knowing she is with me cheering me on

         Helps me to keep moving towards the dawn

The hurt still deeply remains for me

         But forever my friend will be free

Time can’t go back to before

         Life will forever be sore

Sometimes bleeding sometimes bare

         The scab on my heart is still there
